Coach Chance Willard is a native of Hazel Green, Alabama where he graduated from Hazel Green High School in 2014 where he was an All State selection and the single season hits leader in school history. After high school Chance attended Shelton State Community College where he saw time at 1B and OF over his two year career. The Bucs won two North Division championships while Coach Willard attended. Chance was also selected as team captain his sophomore season. After two years at Shelton State Coach Willard went on to finish his career at NAIA powerhouse Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. Over his two years there the Eagles compiled a record of 107-22 with one National Championship runner-up and another World Series appearance in 2018. Coach Willard was a career hitter of .310 in his college career and was known for his outstanding defensive presence at 1B. After college Coach Willard went on to coach at Faulkner University for one season in 2019 where the eagles went back to the World Series, during this coaching period Coach Willard was in charge of corner infielders and hitters while recruiting. In 2020 Coach Willard was hired as assistant baseball coach for Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. During many summers from 2017-2020 Chance spent many summers coaching travel ball with the Triton Rays/Next Level Academy and served as their strength and speed coach. Coach Willard currently resides in Dothan, Alabama with his wife Brantlee and son Tate.
